Several other projects are in the works that will enhance this relaxed and environmentally conscious green community in Uvita Costa Rica
There are a few prominent projects for Uvita Costa Rica. Some have been in planning for quite a while others are more recent, but these three are coming to fruition in the near term. So expcect more than just ocean views in Uvita, these projects will greatly compliment the green community in Costa Rica here at Tierra Verde Uvita.
BAHIA ESCONDIDA Marina and Village
One and a half hour drive south, the country’s largest marina project is under way. When complete, the 217-slip facility and waterfront village will be nestled within the protective enclave created by Golfo Dulce Bay on Costa Rica’s South Pacific coast. Bahia Escondida is a master-planned residential, resort and marina destination in the port town of Golfito. www.bahiaescondidacostarica.com
International Airport
Approximately 30 minutes drive south from Uvita Costa Rica is the country’s next international airport, scheduled to begin operation for large regional carriers in 2010. ‘La Nacion’, Costa Rica’s national newspaper, announced recently that evaluation studies are being completed positively and that the government is considering private bidding for both construction and administration. Given the success of the airport at Liberia in Guanacaste we view this as a significant positive for this area.
Neighboring Developments
As you drive around and talk with the locals and realtors, you will find a number of quality developers are coming to make the southern zone successful and several boutique projects underway. Punta Dominical started the lead in high end beachfront villas in the southern zone by offering panoramic whitewater and coastline ocean view homesites. Not only has this set the bar but also has created significant value in the southern zone. Further south is Ojochal, a community popular with French Canadians which is tucked back into the mountain side and hosts some of the best restaurants you can find anywhere.
